GreeNostr Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of GreeNostr and the related features made available through the App.
1. Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GreeNostr (the "App", "we", "us", or "our"), including related services, APIs, WebSocket services, and features made available through the App.
By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version through the App or other appropriate channels. Your continued use of the App after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
2. What the App Does
GreeNostr is a Nostr-based social app. Depending on the features available in your version of the App, it may let you:
- sign in using Nostr credentials;
- browse profiles, posts, notifications, and related activity;
- publish posts, replies, reposts, quotes, and other Nostr events;
- send and receive direct messages;
- block or report users or content;
- upload profile or post media;
- connect a wallet through supported wallet flows;
- request account deletion.
Some features require full-access login. Some features may be available only in read-only mode or may depend on third-party services.
3. Eligibility and Use of the App
You may use the App only if you can legally enter into these Terms and if your use complies with applicable law. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have reached the minimum age required to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.
You agree not to use the App to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- infringe another person’s rights;
- distribute spam, fraud, harassment, abusive material, or illegal content;
- interfere with, disrupt, or misuse the App or related infrastructure;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- use the App in a way that could harm other users, relays, service providers, or our systems.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we believe your use violates these Terms or creates risk for the App, other users, or third parties.
4. Nostr Accounts and Credentials
The App supports Nostr-based authentication.
If you use read-only mode, some features will be unavailable.
If you use full-access mode, you are responsible for your Nostr
credentials, including your nsec, and for any actions
taken using your account or keys.
The App is designed so that your private key is used locally on your device for signing during normal operation, and we do not normally send the raw private key to our backend. You are still responsible for securing your device, backups, and credentials.
If you lose access to your key material, we may not be able to recover your account or activity for you.
5. User Content
You are responsible for the content, events, messages, media, and other material you create, publish, upload, or transmit through the App.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to use and share that content and that doing so does not violate law or the rights of others.
You retain responsibility for your content. However, by using the App, you grant us the limited rights needed to process, store, display, transmit, synchronize, and otherwise operate the App and its features.
Because the App interacts with the Nostr network and related decentralized infrastructure, content you publish may be copied, stored, indexed, or redistributed by relays, third parties, or other users outside our control.
6. Direct Messages and Private Activity
The App supports encrypted direct messages.
Direct message content is encrypted before it is published and is intended to be readable only by the intended participants.
You understand that:
- public Nostr activity may be widely visible and redistributed;
- encrypted direct messages may still pass through or be stored by relays and related infrastructure;
- message delivery and related metadata may still depend on relays, backend processing, and other technical systems; and
- no messaging or network feature can be guaranteed to be continuously available, perfectly reliable, or permanent.
7. Wallet Features
If wallet features are available, they are provided as a convenience feature only.
You are responsible for:
- verifying wallet connection details;
- reviewing payment amounts, destinations, invoices, and confirmations;
- understanding the risks of Lightning, Nostr Wallet Connect, and any connected wallet provider.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the App is not a custodian of your funds and does not itself hold money on your behalf. External wallet providers, Lightning services, or related payment services may apply their own terms, fees, policies, and operational rules.
We are not responsible for losses caused by third-party wallet providers, relay behavior, payment routing issues, invoice failures, user mistakes, or external service downtime.
8. Media Uploads
If you upload media, you are responsible for the files you select and share.
You must not upload content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, deceptive, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms or applicable law.
Uploaded media may be stored or served through configured media servers and may become accessible to others if you attach it to public or shared content.
9. Reports, Blocking, and Moderation
The App may provide reporting, blocking, or related safety features.
These tools are provided to help users manage their experience and report problematic content or accounts. We do not guarantee that all reported content will be removed from relays, third-party systems, or other decentralized infrastructure.
We may review reports, enforce internal rules, restrict features, or take other action where appropriate, but we are not obligated to monitor all content or resolve every dispute.
10. Third-Party and Decentralized Services
The App may interact with third-party or decentralized services, including:
- Nostr relays;
- wallet providers;
- media servers;
- push notification providers;
- external websites or linked services.
Those services are independent from us and may be unavailable, delayed, changed, or removed at any time. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, security, availability, or policies of third-party or decentralized services.
11. Availability and Changes
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice.
We do not guarantee that any feature, relay integration, wallet integration, notification flow, or backend service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
12. Account Deletion and Termination
If account deletion is available, you may request deletion through the App.
Deletion through our services may revoke sessions, clear certain locally managed or backend-managed state, and publish cleanup-related events where supported. However, because the App interacts with decentralized systems, deletion may not remove copies of your content from relays, indexes, caches, or third-party systems outside our control.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we believe you violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, or misused the App or related services.
We may also suspend, restrict, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, regulatory requests, security requirements, abuse prevention measures, or operational risk controls.
13. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We disclaim, to the fullest extent permitted by law, all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not guarantee:
- continuous availability of the App;
- successful delivery, publication, synchronization, or deletion of any content or event;
- permanent access to relays, media servers, push providers, or wallet providers;
- accuracy, completeness, or reliability of third-party or user-generated content.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, digital assets, business opportunity, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us, our affiliates, operators, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to:
- your use of the App;
- your content;
- your violation of these Terms;
- your violation of law or the rights of any third party.
